 A cégvezető kommentárjával arra reagált, hogy szeptemberben közel harmincéves csúcsra, 5,4%-ra emelkedett az amerikai infláció, Dorsey szerint a probléma nagyobb, mint ahogy azt a döntéshozók gondolják. Legutóbb már Jerome Powell Fed-elnök is úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a magas infláció a korábban vártnál tovább tarthat, jóval átnyúlhat 2022-re is. Éppen ezért a várakozások szerint a jegybank hamarosan elkezdheti visszafogni gazdaságélénkítő programjait, akár már november elején elindíthatják az eszközvásárlások fokozatos leépítését.
 Dorsey szerint az infláció nem csak az USA problémája, hamarosan az egész világon eszkalálódni fog. Az üzletember ugyanakkor nem csak szimplán tartósan magas inflációra, hanem egyenesen hiperinflációra figyelmeztet.
