Az Európai Beruházási Bank (EBB)
igazgatótanácsa támogatta a 25 milliárd eurós COVID-19 Európai Garanciaalap
létrehozását. Az erre vonatkozóan kiadott közlemény szerint az alap lehetővé
teszi az EBB-csoport számára, hogy 200 milliárd euróval növelje az európai
vállalatoknak nyújtott támogatását, különös tekintettel a kis- és
középvállalkozások támogatására. A közlemény szerint az EBB-csoportnak kulcsszerepet
kell vállalnia a COVID-19 világjárvány gazdasági hatásának leküzdésében. A garanciaalap
mind a 27 EU-tagállam hozzájárulását írja elő és nyitott a harmadik fél
hozzájárulása előtt, mint például az EU költségvetése. A garanciaalapot az EBB Partnerségi
platformja keretén belül hozzák létre, a hatályos jogi keretek és
szabványosított eljárások alapján.
