Az Európai Unió tagállamai 150 millió euróval tervezik megnövelni az Afganisztánnak nyújtandó humanitárius segélyt, közölte von der Leyen, az Európai Bizottság elnöke Twitteren.
A közleménynek megfelelően az Európai Unió úgy határozott, hogy 50-ről több mint 200 millió euróra emeli az Afganisztánnak nyújtandó humanitárius segélyt.
„A G7-ek vezetői találkozóján bejelentem, hogy az EU költségvetése keretein belül 50 millióról 200 millió euróra növeljük az afgánoknak nyújtott humanitárius segélyt az országban és annak határain kívül” – írta von der Leyen.
Emellett humanitárius segély összegét is hozzáadják az EU-tagállamok Afganisztán lakossága támogatására kiutalt hozzájárulásához. Az EU humanitárius segélye az emberi jogok tiszteletben tartását, a kisebbségekkel való jó bánásmódot és a nők és lányok jogainak tiszteletben tartását hivatott támogatni.
