Egy orosz bíróság elrendelte Oleg Gyeripaszka orosz üzletember Szocsiban található luxuskomplexumának lefoglalását. A milliárdos korábban többször is éles kritikával illette a Kremlt az Ukrajnában zajló háború miatt. Gyeripaszka egy nyilatkozatában őrültségnek nevezte azt.
A luxushotel miatt kitört jogi vita még a háború előtt kezdődött, de a Financial Times értesülései szerint nem a véletlennek tudható be, hogy az egymilliárd dollárt érő Imeretinszkij hotelkomplexumot azt követően foglalták le, hogy az orosz kormány nemtetszését fejezte ki Gyeripaszka háborúval kapcsolatban tett nyilatkozatai miatt.
Az oligarcha márciusban azt írta a Twitteren, hogy „minél előbb békét kell kötniük a háborúzó feleknek, mivel már átlépték azt a pontot, ahonnan lenne visszatérés”.
A szocsi turistaközpontot egy alapítvány álmodta meg, melynek felügyelőbizottsági elnöke nem más, mint Vlagyimir Putyin. A szervezet társtulajdonosa pedig Szergej Roldugin csellóművész, akit az orosz elnök offshore-vagyonkezelőjeként tartanak számon. Rolduginról azt érdemes még megjegyezni, hogy ő Putyin Marija nevű lányának a keresztapja. Mindezek ismeretében már kikövetkeztethető, hogy mi lehetett a mostani bírósági döntés mozgatórúgója.
